I have been scammed by a telemarketing group holding themselves out to help me sell my timeshare. I was promised two years ago that they would put my ad on the web and do all they could to sell my timeshare. I stupidly paid them $599. About 2 months ago, they came back to me telling me that they were trying to clean up unsold properties on EBay and would advertise it again. They let me to believe that the cost would come out of the exceptionally good price that they could sell it for. Lo and behold, I find that they are going to charge my credit card in advance for $699. I called the following day and cancelled the whole order. They put it through anyway. Papers arrived a week later for me to sign giving me a 10 day cancellation offer. I called again and cancelled it again, also writing an e-mail cancelling it with return receipt requested. The man holding himself out to be the manager of the office called me back and said that a credit would be issued on Dec. 20. After 2 or 3 more phone calls from me, I kept being assured the credit was going to be issued. HAH, Good thing I am not holding my breath. These people have lied to me over and over. I would recommend that anyone wishing to sell timeshares keep your distance from a company called Timeshares by Owner. They are mostly located in Florida.
