View Full Version : Minnesota Homeowner's Insurance Law

dfeucht
I am looking for Minnesota's insurance law regarding the insurance companies right to not renew insurance business based on weather related claims. We have haild damage requiring a new roof, however we had a weather related claims 3 years ago at the same address and I am wondering whether to submit the claim or pay it out of my own pocket. I know if i call to ask the insurance company this claim ends up in their system regardless of what I decide to do.

I found some Texas law that says an insurance company must renew unless there were 3 non-weather claims, but I did not find anything at the Minnesota Attorney General page or through general searches.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

Non-renewal laws very by state. I recomend you contact the state insurance commision to find out what the non-renewal laws are for your state.
