View Full Version : Thoughts on Ron Paul?

Personally I find his policies, thoughts, and solutions to be very appealing when it comes to the economy, taxes, the war, and returning to our constitutional roots. Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

His site is here if you need to read up more on him to form an educated opinion:

I think Ron Paul's refusal to recognize that returning to the gold standard would collapse the world markets, sending many nations into anarchy and riot, is a serious drawback to his ideas.

And I'm sorry to say that he says some very boneheaded things, right next to the really brilliant ones. I'm glad to say that he is more polite than the other debaters I saw on TV in NH last night. Then again, there were times he looked seriously like a melancholy version of Goober Pyle -- couldn't wait for him to say "JudyJudyJudyJudy!"

He doesnt advocate a return to the gold standard, he advocates a policy of competing currencies, one of which should be backed by gold or silver.

I think the thing that could really send our economy (and other nations) into anarchy and riot is the practice of the Federal Reserve printing money like there is no tomorrow, and continually devaluing the dollar.

As for Gomer Pyle...Mike Huckabee is your man there, goofy, dumb, and a scary likeness to him too.

I think his thoughts are good but it is radical at times, but his ideas and creative mind makes up for it. Anyway I hope that there are people like Ron that can challenge his ideas in a bigger stage.
