View Full Version : Credit Reporting

What do you do if you have received two credit reports from two credit reporting agencies and one reporting agency refuses to send your credit report? I was denied credit and free credit reports from all CRA's are entitled to me within 60 days. However, I have sent in a written request along with ample ID's in order to receive my credit report from this "?CRA." Their responses were, 1. Not entitled to free credit report within one year. 2. The sent identifications needed to be enlarged for their records. I have contacted the FTC, and nothing is being done. Really, I would like to have a full descriptive report on what is in my credit file. More than scores, paying habits and economical histories are listed on credit reports. Everyone should know the real truth about credit reporting, especially when information contains them.

Hi Missaug, what credit reporting agency denied sending you a credit report. If you ordered a report from Equifax, Experian or TransUnion the only reason for refusing to send you a credit report is:
1. They are unable to verify your identity
2. A fraud alert or security freeze is on your account
3. The documentation provided in unreadable
4. You already received a copy of your credit report in less than a 12 month period
Please provide more information to provide an accurate explanation to your question. Thanks.

hfreeman,
Thanks, for your reply. The credit reporting agency is Equifax, an agency I had trouble with previously regarding posting inaccurate information on my credit report. In reply to your response, the same identifications were sent to Experian and Trans Union in order to receive the entitle free credit report base upon credit denial. Because of the laws allowing persons to invade your privacy in order to receive goods, I personally placed a fraud alert on my credit account. According to the credit reporting rules I have read, regardless if you have a recent credit report, if you are denied credit, you are to receive a free credit report and the company/person who denied you credit is to provide an explanation of the credit denial. Identifications were clearly printed, It was ridiculous for Equifax to send a letter concerning enlargement of Driver's License. If I received Equifax's letter regarding denial of my credit report due to nonenlargement of ID"s, then I should have received my credit report. The whole process of laws on credit, makes no sense. You can tell by the housing economy, and economy in general that credit only hurts the ones who can not help themselves, in reality sense they are the ones who are most deserving. Perhaps I should have placed my comments on the Boiling Point Forum.

missaug,
Have you tried to call Equifax and speak to a representative directly? You might be able to get some of your questions answered that way.
