my son got his 1098-t and only an amount in box 2 was entered. i paid 1073.00 that was qualified tuition and fees but it was not entered in box 1. can i still take the deduction? thanks alan

You should get in touch with the educational institution and ask why there is no entry in box 1.

Yeah it sounds like you should be able to take that deduction but definitely check with the educational institution first.
