Can you write off wedding and honeymoon expense
what about home expenses like washers hardwood floors

mbfranklin
Sorry, wedding, honeymoon expenses and home improvements are not tax deductible. If your looking for tax deductions, consider contributing to your employer-based retirement plan or IRA, partial credits or deductions for college expenses for yourself, spouse or child, or charitible contributions if you itemize your deductions.

As my name states, I am a newbie here, and to the idea of tax write offs.

I know what they are, and genneraly how to apply them, but I'd also be interested in some sources. If you know of any good book/artical/whatnot.. I'd be interested in learning more.

mods, if this isn't in the right spot, or if you believe I should start another topic about this, feel free!

I have purchased "Taxes for Dummies 2004" and find it to be very helpful. Despite the name, the book does a great job of simplifying and explaining tax code and is broken down into logical chapters so you can either read it from cover to cover or use it as a reference book as I do. You can find it at all the major book retailers or order it online.
