just wondering if how much can we save by cutting down the use of cellphone's?

Maybe call your cellphone provider. They would probably know more than a bunch of random people on the Internet.

I have a flat rate plan with four people on it, and we don't reach our minutes. I wouldn't save any money by using the cell phone less.

The best way to save on the cellphone is to not use it at all, and cancel the service!

I've heard those are quite expensive. You get charged $1/per day, plus rates are 2-3 times regular cell phone rates.

However, throwaway phones are very useful if you are running a chupacabra kennel whose legality is questionable (gotta avoid those federal phone taps!).

Yes, he is right. If you want to save by cutting down your phone usage, better to cancel it and you would be able to save a better amount of money every month as we dont have to pay the rental even.
