The thief or robber also to attack some one who have money ,but how they know who is walking with money?so don't take out your wallet when you walking ,it is dangerous,the thief will found where your wallet put and how much money in it ,don't be careless.
Take care of your bag ,mobile phone , jewellery or other valuable,the thief often stare these things,if you hold these valuable tightly,they will not take it easily.
You'd better go out with friends,not to walking lonely in the night,the robber always choose a single to rob.
To look around regularly,the thief often followed one people and choose a time to robbed him,so you 'd better to look around ,and care the situation as soon as possible.
Never go out in the night or in the early morning,the robber often to robbed in that time ,so if you have to go out in the night,you 'd better be careful. :p

i think just be cautious in every where you go. always put your money in a safe place when traveling

I never bring lots of cash if I know that I will be going home late. I also do ot wear jewelries in strange places. Just be careful when walking alone and never walk in dark places.

My problem with your post is that the information in line 2 won't necessarily be the best course of action should one be mugged/robbed. holding valuables tightly may only incite the perpetrator to raise his/her level of violence against the victim causing more harm than if items are given up easily. point being carry only what is needed giving up the least possible and get away from the point of danger (the perpetrator) as quickly as possible. understand the perpetrator isn't looking to hang around while he/she counts up their ill-gotten gains.

Line 5 never go out at night or in the early morning. A lot of us myself included must either go go out in the early am or be out in late evening because our work or lifestyles call for this and it can't be helped (not all of us work 9 to 5) your best advice about being careful is probably the only thing that holds any value in you post.
