View Full Version : Going to college in Germany - help please!

Alexandrea
I was accepted to community college but now I need to move to Germany. I haven't found out yet whether or not I can transfer to a college in Germany from my college but I would assume they would frown upon that since I would only be going to my college for two years and then transferring to a four-year university so why even go through my college since the two years would be spent in Germany, you know?

The catch is, I can only speak basic conversational German and majority of the colleges there are obviously taught in German. I found a couple of colleges that are taught in English and I also found a summer program where they teach you German and then place you in a college but I haven't recieved a reply.

Can any give me any ideas or have any information??? Anything would be welcome at this point in time.

Thanks,
Alexandrea

Alexandrea,

Are you going to Germany with the military or as a military spouse? There are numerous programs available for Americans that are located on military bases. My fiance grew up in Germany and went to 2 years of college at the Wurzberg UMUC campus, which instructs in English.

I know that UMUC has a big program in Europe, so would check with them at www.umuc.edu.

Best of luck

You can Get Your Degree Online (http://digitsy.com/us/item/142088901X). (using English language). Or try The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD (http://www.daad.org/)) is a publicly-funded independent organization of institutions in Germany which help students in the USA on their journey to study in Germany. They provide information as well as financial support for study.
