View Full Version : How are gas prices in your neighborhood?

Just wondering how gas prices are around where you live. I'm in Northern California, and the station by my house is selling Regular for $2.93. YIKES! Good thing I drive a clunker and don't have to fill up with Premium, which is selling for $3.23.
How about your neighborhood?

I'm in the SF Bay Area, and my local gas station is selling regular for about $2.85. Yikes. I remember fondly the days when I could fill my tank for less than $15.

I was in Iowa this week--it's around $3/gallon there.
Now I'm back in Philadelphia, and I saw stations advertising $3.69 today!!!!
I'm going to have to cut spending somewhere, that's for sure. This consumer's confidence is plummeting fast. :o

Remember when people would drive a few extra miles to save 2 or 3 cents per gallon? Well, I drove 5 miles up the road and went from $3.15 to $2.79 a gallon. Nice save!
Check online. Here, we have www.dallasgasprices.com, but I am sure everyone has a gas price website in their area. It could save you a lot of $$$!!!

I paid $2.59 yesterday (down over 11% over the past 5 weeks). My wife found gas for $2.41 in Mississippi last weekend (who knew it is only a 10-hour drive from Dallas to Pensacola?)

(who knew it is only a 10-hour drive from Dallas to Pensacola?)Uh-oh Dingo... she wasn't traveling on the Lisa Nowack itinerary was she; 900 miles non-stop wearing an astro-diaper? ha!
"Have you been following the story of this female astro-nut? She drove 900 miles from Houston Texas to Orlando, Fla., to confront the woman who was her romantic rival. She drove the whole time wearing a diaper so she didn’t have to stop and pee. And let me tell you something ladies, nothing turns a man on more than a woman with a full diaper." --Jay Leno
"When she was arrested, she was carrying a wig, a steel mallet, some duct tape, and a knife. Or as OJ calls it, an overnight bag." --Jay Leno
Gas out here in Virginia Beach isn't too bad, not sure what has brought the price down - I always blame it squarely on big oil puppet mastering. I'm finding $2.59 9/10 regular and I got premium for $2.77 9/10 (still waiting on my 1/10 cent change  )

Too funny, Rookie. I missed that post. I totally forgot about that trip my wife took, too.
Anyway, gas prices are creeping back down to the $3.20's in the Dallas area.

The gas prices will stay up high at the meantime.
My advice is always this:
1) Get low capacity cars. You will save more costs, I have never gone over 2L cars, even with a 7-seater.
2) Top up your gas when the fuel meter shows half-empty. That is important. The reason is that petrol can evaporate even in the tank. With half-empty, you reduce the amount of evaporation.
3) Try Biodiesel. It's proven to work. At least try it out on your own, or you can go to my website: http://www.biodieselathome.biz
