View Full Version : Can we file this?
Unregistered
We have a child in k-4 at a private school. They sent us a form saying we could possibly use it to file child care expenses since it is considered "day-care". How do we file this? What are the rules on it?
Thank you,

To be able to claim child care credit, the day care must be paid to enable both parents to work. The limit that can be claimed per year for 1 child is $2400 with a maximum of $4800 for all children. Any amounts paid for day care that are paid from your employer's pretax plan will reduce the amount you can claim. You must fill out form 2441 and attach to your schedule 1040
