View Full Version : fund average question

Can someone tell me how to figure out the average that a fund has performed? I am guessing that I look at the line that says since inception and that is the average that the fund has performed?

I am a big dave ramsey fan and his advice preaches to find a fund that averages 12%. I guess this means over the lifespan that fund has been out. Some years it will be more some years less.

Is the since inception line where i look to find this info out or do I need to look at some other lines and do a mathamatical equation

Your first mistake is taking investment advice from Dave Ramsey.

When you find an investment which averages 12% per year, please let me know.

american funds have several that have averages between 10-12% over the life of the fund. There are also other fund compaines out there that have similar results and returns.

Dave recommeneds this for investment

25% growth stock fund
25% growth and income
25% Agressive Growth
25% international

would this not be a good choice for investing for retirement?

What makes you think taking investment advice from dave ramsey is a bad idea?
