Ruther:
I can't speak to the validity of the specific offer you are asking about, but I, and many others on this forum, have used TurboTax and are quite happy with its ease of use and value. I used to use H and R block because I had a rental property and many deductions, but I have had a very easy time going through turbotax even with all these schedules. Maybe the offer you found is for first-time users? I don't know. I also like the speed of e-filing.

I'm curious, too. That link looks like it takes you right into Intuit's site. You have to access your return through there to get the discounted price.
Anybody see a reason not to trust it?

It looks like Intuit's site thru Fidelity's site (some sort of deal perhaps). You could probably call either to confirm its validity.

When I put my cursor on your link, it had a website (www.jdoqocy.com). I entered that site and got a phishing/pharming warning:

Who is Commission Junction and how is it related to the above domains?
Commission Junction is a global leader in online pay-for-performance marketing that assists and tracks the serving of billions of monthly impressions for its clients, ranking it among the largest ad networks in the world.
After advertisers join the Commission Junction network, they place advertisements and offers in the network, that are converted by Commission Junction to links. These links are made available to publishers in our network. Publishers apply to join an advertiser's program, and upon acceptance, select and place the advertiser's links on their Web site or in their email newsletter.
These offers and links are served and tracked by Commission Junction through several of our ad serving domains. When an email recipient or a visitor to a publisher's Web site makes an actual purchase online or fills out a form, that transaction is tracked and recorded by Commission Junction. Commission Junction handles all of the collection and processing required to ensure fair and timely commission payments for publishers, and all of the administration and verification necessary to ensure qualified sales and leads for the advertiser.
On rare occasions, a publisher may violate the Commission Junction service agreement by sending unsolicited email with our links. If you have received an unsolicited commercial email (sometimes referred to as "spam") from a list you have opted out of, and that email contains one of our links, please continue to read the following information.
How can I report unsolicited commercial email (UCE) containing Commission Junction links?
Commission Junction does not send commercial email to consumers and has a strict "anti-spam" policy. In order to join and operate in our network, we require all advertisers and publishers to warrant in their respective service agreements that they will comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Public Law 108-187) or other applicable laws regulating commercial email. You may have been able to trace the email to us because there was a Commission Junction link in the email sent by one of our customers. The email, however, was not sent by Commission Junction and we do not tolerate any form of spam. Accordingly, if a customer of ours has violated the Commission Junction service agreement by sending unsolicited commercial email, then we will take appropriate action. If you have not already done so, please forward the original spam email to:
*Commission Junction Publisher Service Agreement with the Customer
Pursuant to the Publisher Service Agreement, Commission Junction may deactivate your account if you have sent spam, or engaged in unscrupulous promotional methods. The PSA also provides for termination from an Advertiser's program at the Advertiser's request based on a violation of the PSA, such as spamming. Therefore, you may not receive 7 days notice prior to being terminated from an Advertiser's program if the Advertiser receives complaints regarding your promotional conduct or spam.

You can actually log on to your Fidelity account and save 35% on your Turbotax filing. I just DO NOT RECOMMEND using the link Ruther provided by any means.

Dingo made a strong point on that. Nice.

Yes you can use TurboTax and save some money. Turbo Tax will guide you through a wizard and use your answers to generate your forms which then you can file electronically. Note that you can also file electronically and entirely for free if your Adjusted Gross Income is less that 52,000. To do this use the Free File program which you can access through the IRS webpage at www.irs.gov
