View Full Version : investment brokerage help.

I have been with First Command for 11 years now. I recently received a class action lawsuit notice against FC that made me do some research. I now realize that it would be a smart move to move away from FC.
My question is this.
I am currently invested with Roth IRA in Fidelity through FC. Can I just leave FC and make my allotments straight to Fidelity. What kind of fees will I be looking at?
I am totally ignorant to the whole investing thing so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx!

Good that you are doing some research on your brokerage.

First call Fidelity and tell them your situation. Then tell them you would like to have your ROTH IRA with Fidelity as the IRA Custodian. I am sure they will help you work through this, and eliminate FC as your IRA custodian.

Doing this would not be a taxable event.

Thank you for the reply and that sounds look a good idea. Will do.

Thanx

I believe a direct switch to Fidelity as your custodian without new fees was part of the settlement as well. But, it's been awhile since FC was on the radar around here.

just out of curiosity, what was the lawsuit about?
