With everything that has gone on in the financial world since last fall, I find I can't make a decision on my retirement accounts. I haven't contributed much to my 2008 Roth account yet. I need to change my asset allocations, but I'm not convinced anyone else knows what to do either, from Washington to Wall Street to me. I'm just afraid of making the wrong decision, probably like everyone else.
I'm 54, single, no dependents. My retirement was hit bad like everyone else, meaning IF i retire, I have no idea WHEN it will happen. I'm looking for opinions on what my asset allocation should be now: how much in equities (growth, value, small, large?) bonds, or just keep it under my mattress? I'm hoping that good days actually are ahead and want to be in a good position. I just hope they aren't 10 years from now.
I keep thinking of an old Yiddish saying: "Man plans, God laughs."
Thanks,
Mike
