I've read before that when writing up a will, probate can be avoided. If I understand correctly, probate is expensive, timely, and unnecessary. But with a living trust, I run into the problem of the Death Tax! Furthermore, I know that all these taxes/laws vary by state, and I'm planning on relocating my family from San Diego to Tampa Bay soon.
This San Diego lawyer (http://www.walterstrustinfo.com/) has a lot of information about trusts for California residents, and this Florida attorney (http://www.floridaestateplanninglawyerblog.com/) deals with probate, etc. in Florida, but what if I'm moving from one state to another?
Does anyone know how the rules apply for those who are no longer a resident of one area, but not yet a resident of another?
