Over the last months I've made some nice gains doing Forex (currency) trading. Can I offset these gains with the losses I took cashing-in my mutual funds?

I don't really know which form, I just entered Forex trading this year after studying it for the last few years.
I also have some very good gains from finanical stocks, and I would perfer hold off taking those gains to off-set the mutual fund losses if I can use the Forex gains to offset. The Forex gains are realize gains, stocks are unrealized gains.
