View Full Version : Firstrade questions

rolex80
Hi,

I have today opened an account with firstrade and I have two questions:

1) To deposit funds they want my bank details, can't I just give them my VISA card number?

2) Should I deposit $1000 and not perform a single trade for 3 months, is it safe to assume that my balance will be $1000 after 3 months? (due to no inactivity fee)

I thank you in advance

Firstrade should be able to answer both of these questions better than anyone here. (Presumably)

They havent answered my email yet, i sent it 24 hours ago.

Dingo biscuit (or any other good soul) , did your online broker ask for your bank details or was he happy enough with your VISA card number?

I have never tried to fund equities with a credit card, so I have no answer. I assume the brokerage would need your bank routing and account information for when the time comes to cash out equities. I do not think a credit card wil accept payment from your brokerage firm, but I have never tried, therefore have no firsthand knowledge.

Let us know what transpires.
