Buy or Rent

I am 23 and have been in the work force a little over a year making 30k in rural Texas town. Have about 5k in roth IRA and 5k in savings. More than likely will be married within the next year with spouse also making 25-30k. I have no debt and a 700+ credit score and she has about 14k in student loans. Looking at homes in the 90-110k range and cost of living is really minimal as far as bills and expenses go. I'm not sure if i'll be in this area for 10 years but then again I could see being here 10 years or more. Would purchasing a home be wise at this time or should rent for another year or two? I want my own place, I'm tired of roommates. A lender I talked with only requires a 6% down payment with closing costs and appraisal fees included. Any advice welcomed I'm still very green but it's time to grow.

You'd be looking at monthly payments in the $510-620 range (assuming 6%/30yr fixed-closing costs and fees not included). Seems affordable, especially on 2 incomes at your stated levels. If you hanker to be a homeowner, I'd say heck yeah, grow on! What does your fiance say?
