Poll: Invest in Roth or pay of credit card debt?

I have approx $4700 in CC debt at 6.9%, I will be receiving a tax refund of about $6000. Should I pay off that credit card debt...or put the $5000 max into my Roth IRA which is invested in an aggressive 80% stock-20% bond way?

Micknavy45,

Why do you have the CC debt?

If the CC debt is eliminated, will it return?

Having the debt gone and keeping it gone is the best idea.

The amount you are paying on the CC debt can then be used for contributing to your ROTH IRA.
