Income Tax Refund

Hi there! I'm a very busy man and I'm wondering whether I can process a print copy of my income tax refund via online? Is there any authority about this matter that I can turn to? For now I can only communicate online. Please bear with me. If you know of anybody or if you can recommend me to someone or something I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Thrisakaye,

I am not sure what you mean when you say, "my income tax refund".

An income tax refund is an amount of money that the IRS says you overpaid. Your withholding plus credits is more than your tax bill, so the IRS REFUNDS the excess amount to you. Or by your direction will credit this amount to a future year. Or applys that amount to a balance due for some prior year.

Maybe you mean your tax return, you want a copy of your tax return. You can request this from the IRS, but there is a fee ($57.00), and it takes several weeks or months to get a copy. This service is not online.

You must coplete form 4506 (the form is available online) and mail it to the address listed in the instructions. There are several centers that process these requests, depending on where you live. Here is the Form 4506 and instructions - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf.

A less expensive alternative may be a Tax Return Transcript. This is free!
And it can be ordered by calling 1-800-829-1040 and follow the prompts.

Or you can use Form 4506-T, and mail the completed form to the correct address in the instructions. Here is the form 4506-T: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf.
